About me

I have been working as a Specialist in Anaesthetics since 2007. During this time I have worked mainly at John Hunter Hospital in Newcastle, a tertiary referral and trauma centre and one of the busiest hospitals in Australia.

Through administering approximately 800 anaesthetics per year in the Hunter Region, I have acquired additional experience in anaesthesia for Maxillo-Facial, Neurosurgery, Obstetrics, Endoscopy, Vascular Angiography and General Surgery.

I held the position as a Supervisor of Training for Anaesthesia for the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (ANZCA) for 5 years at John Hunter Hospital, overlooking the training of more than 40 trainees at a time.

I am currently a Conjoint Lecturer in Medicine at University of Newcastle.

I am an active Faculty Member for Hunter New England Simulation Centre, where we train medical students, interns, registrars, nurses and consultants in the management of medical emergencies and crises. The main focus of this training is patient safety.

Through the Institute for Medical Simulation in Harvard, Boston, USA, I teach simulation instructors around the world on how to use simulation in healthcare.

As per ANZCA and the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency, I comply with all the requirements for my Continuous Professional Development.

In my practice I utilise this extensive experience to ensure your safety and wellbeing during your anaesthetic.
